Iceland is home to some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world! A few of the most popular and picturesque waterfalls include Godafoss, Dynjandi, Gullfoss, and Skogafoss.

Gullfoss
The Gullfoss is a waterfall in the Hvítá (White River) in southern Iceland. It is one of Iceland’s most popular waterfalls and is easily accessible (by car).
The waterfall is part of the Golden Circle, a favorite round-trip tour of Þingvellir, the Geysir and the Gullfoss that can be covered from Reykjavik in one day, making it one of the most famous tourist spots in Iceland

How to get there?
Getting to Gullfass Waterfall is very easy. By car, it is about 1 hour and 30 minutes away. If you don’t have a car, the Gullfoss Waterfall is part of the Golden Circle Tour.
It is very easy to drive to Gullfoss in a rental car. From Reykjavik there are two routes to the region where the attraction is located. Both routes start with a stretch on the ring road 1.
First you need to drive north on the ring road 1 for a bit, then take exit 36 Thingvellir. This is a beautiful road where you drive along the beautiful Lake Thingvellir.
You drive along roads 36, 37, 365 and 35. Once you’re on road 35 you will see the signs to Gullfoss.
An alternative is to drive first along ring road 1 to Selfoss southeast of Reykjavik.
From this town you take road 35 and drive all the way to the end. On the way you can visit the crater lake Kerid. By following the signs you cannot miss the waterfall.
On the way you pass the geysers at Haukadalur (including the popular Geysir and Strokkur). On both routes, by the way, you’ll drive on fine road surfaces.
Öxarárfoss
Öxarárfoss is a stunning waterfall located in Þingvellir National Park in Iceland. It is fed by the Öxará River and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area.
The breathtaking views of the powerful falls and the surrounding landscape make for a wonderful sightseeing experience.
Visitors can also explore the surrounding trails, take a boat tour of the river, and even swim in the pools at the base of the falls. Öxarárfoss is truly a natural wonder and should not be missed!

How to get there?
Öxarárfoss is very easy to reach by car with the main road. There is plenty of parking.
Furthermore, there are many types of group tours that depart from Reykjavik and go around the Golden Circle.
Skógafoss
Skógafoss is a breathtaking waterfall located in the south of Iceland. The falls are about 60 meters (197 feet) high and 25 meters (82 feet) wide, making it one of the biggest waterfalls in the country.
The cascading water from Skógafoss creates a stunning rainbow on sunny days, making it a popular attraction for visitors.
The views from the top of the falls are incredible, and the surrounding area is perfect for hiking and exploring.

How to get there?
Skogafoss is easy to find. The waterfall is located in southwestern Iceland, right along Beltway No. 1. The waterfall is about 100 kilometers east of Selfoss, and about 35 kilometers west of Vik.
The easiest way to get there is with a rental car, that way you can go wherever you want.
You can also walk up to the top via a path. Once at the top, you have a viewing platform, with stunning views of the waterfall and its surroundings.
Seljalandsfoss
Seljalandsfoss is an amazing waterfall located in south Iceland. It’s easily accessible from a nearby parking lot, and it’s one of the most popular attractions in the area.
The falls cascade down a 60-meter (200-foot) cliff, making it a spectacular sight. It’s also unique in that visitors can walk behind the falls, creating an amazing experience. In summer, the falls are lit up at night, creating a magical atmosphere.

How to get there?
Seljalandsfoss is very easy to reach because it is right along Beltway No. 1. Be sure to keep an eye on the signs, and take exit 249.
If you arrive from Reykjavik, you can already see the waterfall in the distance.
When you’re coming from the south, turn right into road 249; you will be there when the mountains on your right turn into the countryside.
